In the sticky heat of St. Petersburg, FL, in 2022, a band was born. A renegade crew of audacious misfits known as Caught Fire erupted onto the scene with a raw energy that could melt steel and an unwavering desire to challenge the status quo. Influenced by Descendents, Hot Water Music, Samiam, and Cheap Trick, Caught Fire brought forth a storm of sound that captured the essence of their restless spirits. In their infancy, this fearless band unleashed their sonic fury upon the world with three explosive singles in 2022. The following year, they solidified their presence in the underground scene with a blistering split with Rutterkin. Their live performances are legendary, sending shockwaves through even the most seasoned rock veterans. They’ve shared the stage with Strike Anywhere, Codefendants, Wolf-Face, and Slap of Reality, leaving audiences drenched in sweat and awe. As 2024 unfolds, Caught Fire is set to release their debut LP, "Nobody's Listening Anyway," on Ashtray Monument on October 18. This album promises to be a testament to their uncompromising vision and relentless pursuit of rock n roll glory. Driven by a singular vision, Caught Fire's goal is to have a good time all the time and to shred The Fest in Gainesville before they depart this mortal coil, forever reveling in their twisted glory.
Since inception in 1987, when brothers Jeff and Joe Kirby first launched Scepter® in Wichita, Kansas, (before relocating to the DFW area), the band has remained strong and continues to drive home their original 3-piece hard rock music. In 1999 the band relocated to Dallas, Tx after performing alongside great Wichita local musicians such as Paul Bland, John Dobbin and Michael Pannell for many years. Through their Dallas history, Scepter® worked with drummers Chris Menard, Brandon Downum, and Damon Blythe. In July of 2022, after Damon left the band to focus on family/career, Scepter® welcomed Giovanni “Gio” Palombo into the lineup on drums. Gio began drumming at a young age playing and recording with various local bands in Tempe, Arizona. During the 90’s college music scene he was playing alongside with the likes of the Gin Blossoms, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, and Jimmy Eat World. Most recently he’s played and recorded with Johnny Crimes in Salt Lake City, Utah and currently new to the Dallas area. Throughout the bands history, Scepter® has released several independent albums including Depletion of Time (1990), Three (1992), Humerus (1994), Eat to the Feet (1998), Scepterated at Birth (2001), It’s The Getting Up That Gets Ya (2002), Seven By Three (2007), Point of Impact (2008), Now and Again (2016) and streaming audio/videos for It’s All Good (2015), Cheap (2016) and Joyland (2017) which is a tribute to an abandoned theme park in Wichita.
Steezaleo The Great, born Michael D Barnes, is carving out a lane of his own—smooth, focused, and fully in motion. Repping the Great Lakes, born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, he blends timeless charisma with sharp, calculated bars, delivering hypnotic flows that move deeper than the surface. Forever up just dropped and it looks like things are elevating to the top of the music scene. Fresh off the release of his TALK TO ME NICE, the buzz around his previous banger OCEAN MY CUP, is still making waves. Before that, Ride or Go Ghost made serious noise, earning praise from A&R Factory: “Steezaleo's slick wordplay and emotionally raw delivery instantly pull you in… a rare kind of honesty that hip hop needs more of.” “Every bar feels lived, every hook feels earned—this is what staying solid sounds like.” Urban Vault said: “Steezaleo The Great is pushing boundaries with hypnotic flows and a mindset that’s miles ahead—authentic, elevated, and hard to ignore.” Meanwhile, HILLS
