Love? said the Commander is a duo from the ‘PhilaJersey’ area that embraces maximal minimalism in order to create slow burning cinematic emo that’ll make ya feel stuff. Kate Hall met Chris Bishop on Craigslist in the winter of 2018 and the pair have been writing, recording, and performing together ever since. After six EPs, several singles, and hundreds of live performances throughout the Northeast, L?STC released their debut album, ‘Cast Away,’ in the summer of 2024. Its nine songs reflect what they've been through and grown into, both personally and as a band, since meeting in 2018. Their latest release is ‘7 O’Clock News / Silent Night,' an homage to Simon and Garfunkel’s 1966 classic original and Phoebe Bridgers, Fiona Apple, and Matt Berninger’s beautiful 2019 update. Each version is a snapshot of life in America at that time and with everything that’s happened in 2025, L?STC chose to highlight a few stories that they think are especially significant. They kept their recorded version as true to the others as possible and they hope it’s as meaningful to you as it is to them.
