House//Divided (H//D) is a progressive metalcore band from Norfolk, Virginia, blending crushing heaviness with melodic depth and raw emotion. Their debut EP, Ash & Echoes, set the tone with tracks confronting mental health, existential doubt, and personal unrest. After shelving a second record mid-pandemic, the band hit reset — both creatively and personally. A lineup change followed, bringing in new perspectives and a sharper sense of direction. Live shows helped reconnect with what mattered, while singles like “Empire”, “Stray”, and “Headless Howl” marked the beginning of something new during a period of refocus. Now, with fresh energy and a clear voice, H//D returns with The Hero Dies — a loud, urgent pushback against burnout, pressure, and apathy. Led by the single “Perfect Paralysis”, a track that lashes out against the weight of expectations, The Hero Dies is a love letter for anyone still swinging, even when the ending's written.

Donny C. Davied started off his singing career on September 11, 2001. From watching the airplanes go into the Twin Towers and another airplane heading toward the Pentagon, he recalls that at first, he thought it was one of those Armageddon or war movies. Because like millions of people internationally, he would never dream of this happening. But it was not—and it was on that day he started writing political short stories written poetically. From there, he went on to writing romance short story poetry. In his mind, what he was creating was better than a Hallmark card, with the cost being competitive. His poems could be sold for about $5. He continued writing during his spare time. When karaoke became popular, he’d go from one establishment to another, and that was a feat because at the time he wasn’t too comfortable singing in front of crowds with people he did not know. Donny says that it was not much of a surprise that he did well. His sister was the lead singer for the chain of Red Lion motels that had a lounge, and he’d always visit her when possible to listen to her sing. His father was a journalist, and his mother was an English teacher and a writer. He sings best when no one’s around, and has not ruled out singing at a concert.
