The St. Louis-born crooner doesn’t come from a family of artists, but the impeccable sonics of Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind And Fire, Rick James, King Sunny Adé, and Shina Peters soundtracked his household. Such legendary influences consumed him to the point where he would even engage in dance competitions with his cousins and his uncle would offer a cash prize. FiNesi wrote his first song at 10 years old, right around when he moved to Houston, however, he didn’t begin actually recording until 2018. He describes his sound, which people may falsely limit to Afrobeats, as RAF-B: Rock, Afro, Funk, and Blues. Hanna Svirska is a Kyiv-based composer working with electronic and vocal music, combining ambient, new-age, and folk influences. Her practice blends granular synthesis, choral textures, and location-based audio to explore how sound can hold memory and emotion. Her 2023 EP Yangola appeared in Mixmag's Best Albums and EPs of the Year and was featured in A Closer Listen's list of best Ukrainian releases. She has contributed to compilations including SESTRO (система | system) and From Ukraine, For Ukraine (Standard Deviation).
