Otautahi Christchurch- New Zealand based Band formed in 2018. Drawing from a vast song storeroom of over 30 years of original compositions from the song writing partnership of founding members Grant (pick ) McIver and Richard (stick) Payne, these songs draw from popular music influences of the last 7 decades. Predominately guitar based pop supported by lush vocal harmonies, each song is a story for your head, heart and for dancing! 2021: saw the release of their debut album “Get To Work” 2022: collaboration with Shirazman and released Fairlight an electronica-influenced EP, as well as further singles Red Sea and Art in 2023 2024: Song Merchants released the album “Ghosts Of Noah's Acres” and are continuing to record their next album “Songlines” at Orange Studios as well as working on new songs with Shirazman and planning an EP of country-influenced songs.
