LYLE! is the jazz-funk sound of the internet generation. Neon-wearing producer and multi-instrumentalist Lyle Anderton asks ‘What if Stevie Wonder wrote the Mario theme?’, ‘What if the Bee Gees were into Lo-fi beats?’. The music is plugged in to the strong currents of modern digital life, but beneath the surface is joyful, irreverent references to the jazz, funk and soul lineage of the 70s, 80s and 90s, the hayday of pop music that was still recorded with real instruments, ready to light up boogie nights all over the world. On 12th March 2021, the debut LYLE! EP 'Songs for Player 2' was released, with coverage from Bath Radio, Tap the Feed, The Everyday Magazine, BBC Introducing. BBC Radio Bristol called it 'a nostalgic first time listen, taking me right back to the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The sophomore EP 'Searching for Answers' is releasing 28th April 2024, which features the singles 'June', 'Homesick' and the crowd-favourite 'My Gurlfriend (wears a strap on)'.
