A Songwriting Journey – From the 80s to Now My journey with songwriting began at 18, and between then and 25, I poured my energy into writing, co-writing, and collaborating—most notably with my great friend Scott Dobson. Scott and I crossed paths in 1983, and by 1984, we were making music together in Azure, which later evolved into Logic. We played, created, and grew until 1987, when we moved on to a broader project, Kick The Can. By 1989, life took us in different directions. Aside from a few songs I worked on with the incredibly talented Paul Suchin between 1989 and 1991, life—wives, children, divorces etc meant that my songwriting took a backseat. What started as a brief pause turned into a nearly 30-year hiatus from recording. Then came 2020. The world stood still, but creativity reignited. Since then, I’ve been making up for lost time, first writing and recording with Emett Walsh
