At the age of three he got a pair of SL 1200 turntables for his birthday and by four was mixing records under the name Dj Stripez1 at the Sumbowango oasis By five his herd had planned to abandon him for his taste in music and fashion. His stripes always saggin and his kangol hat turned back. When he copped that chain from Frankie Four Feathers at the bodega on the border of Rwanda and Burundi at the edge of 'getti, it was over; the herd was gone. Knowing he couldn't carry everything, he pawned his turntables in exchange for an MPC and buried his vinyl under a palm tree in the warmth of the dessert sun, keeping a promise to himself to always return those roots.
