Award-winning vocalist Brian Erickson has been making records for over a decade now, first with The Paper Jets (2008-2018) and with The Extensions ever since. Over that time, he perfected his unique blend of angular powerpop and observational songwriting. But with a new decade came a new direction and Erickson, who had never formally issued a solo album before, decided to change that in September of 2020. With his debut Little Secrets (released on Mint 400 Records), Erickson took his cue from classic homemade 70s albums by Paul McCartney and Todd Rundgren, and married them to the modern haze of Real Estate and Soccer Mommy. In early 2021, Erickson was named one of the Top NJ Artists You Need to Hear by The Star Ledger. He answered that by reissuing Origami Birds a short collection of material recorded in 2013 but never released widely. Despite the long layover, it still included much of what makes Erickson such a gifted songwriter: thoughtful lyrics, hooks galore, and a preternatural sense of melody. Erickson spent 2023 with The Extensions supporting their first full-length, High Charisma before following it up in 2024 with the Gravitas EP. Solo records continued again in 2025 with the dual albums Everyday Forever (Brian's Version) and its companion Everyday Sketches which were both released on November 28.
