Irony Destroyed is a Kenyan metal band pushing the boundaries of heavy music in East Africa. Formed in 2015 and led by guitarist Lenny Kiano, the band began actively performing and releasing music in 2016. Their debut EP dropped in 2017, followed by a series of singles between 2018 and 2021, leading up to their full-length album in 2022. Through the years, Irony Destroyed has evolved with a few lineup changes but remains passionate and resilient, overcoming struggles to keep the music alive. Lyrically, the band delves into themes of existentialism, philosophy, overcoming life’s challenges, and confronting injustice—expressed through crushing riffs, intense breakdowns, and raw emotion. Born and raised in the UK, "taykio" discovered his outcasted personality through music. Through his adolescence, he wrote poems and fun songs to express his purest emotions. This taste in music sparked his passion as he continued to write and preform on tracks throughout his life, inspired and spiritually touched by artists such as MF DOOM, Joey Bada$$, Tyler the creator and Nujabes. These legends pioneered his career and fuelled his determination to be something great. Now, as an older teenager he strives to make a name for himself and leave his mark within the music industry, whether it's massively impactful or insignificant.
