Ethnically Korean, with a Stateside influenced background; BBP Ralph AKA Ralph Lauren Shawty has been known by many local New Zealand artists as he started his music journey in Auckland. Ralph was gifted his first ever mic and audio interface on his Jordan year giving him the motivation to make 10 songs per day. As his skills improved, he decided to learn a bit about mixing and mastering himself and still is to this day! Having lived in Jacksonville, Florida and having met a lot of friends from down south… he quickly adapted and understood the heavy accent used in modern day rap in major motion cities such as Atlanta, Memphis, Miami, H Town, Dallas... etc. NBA YoungBoy playing a huge role in Ralph’s life; by his lyrics coinciding with what he was feeling at the time has a lot of influence on his rap style today. Ralph originally wanted to become an R&B artist however, his hardships in life grew overtime, making him express those emotions through lyrics; he had thought it was best if he records over sad and melodic trap beats.
