Pinson has appeared at the Newport, Montreal, Jakarta, and So What’s Next Jazz Festivals, the Hollywood Bowl, the Village Vanguard, the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Yoshi’s, and Ronnie Scott’s. Most recently, he was an artist in residence at Black Cat in San Francisco. A drum student from the age of 7, Pinson holds music degrees from the Thelonious Monk Institute at UCLA (M.M.) and Berklee College of Music (B.A.).
