In the spring of 2023 Lost Leaders’ Byron Isaacs and Peter Cole spent eight weeks in their upstate New York studio writing and recording songs exploring desire and acceptance, which became their third full-length release aptly titled “Hungry Ghosts”. Isaacs plays bass in The Lumineers but took take advantage of a break in their 2023 world tour to work on the album. Produced by the two of them and engineered and mixed by Cole, they have created their most adventurous record to date. With raw almost barebones production, the record is spun from intertwining guitars and keyboard with the duo's signature harmonies and trading of lead vocals. Lost Leaders was born in Levon Helm’s barn where their first record was written and recorded. Originally it was just a group of songs written by the two longtime friends. At the time Byron was playing in Levon’s band and so the two were invited to live and record at his barn for a few weeks. While recording they were invited to play the Midnight Ramble with Levon which essentially was their first gig and Lost Leaders were born. Upon release the single “I’m Gonna Win" was picked up in heavy rotation by AAA station WXPK in White Plains, NY and from there it spread across the country. With no label they chased the train as it was leaving the station. In the Summer of 2022 the Jealous Sun E.P. emerged. The lead single “Long Way Down” was the most added song at Americana radio in June and landed in the top 100 nationally later that summer.
Brisbane’s answer to a moody Sunday afternoon spent overthinking life’s “what-ifs,” Albany Expression is a four-piece alternative rock band with a passion for old emo and new perspectives. Their 2025 debut single, “All the Same,” sets the stage for a wave of exciting releases to come.
