The Metropolitan Groove Project (MGP) comes to life from the meeting of musicians with different background. Their music takes inspiration from various stylistic sources such as funk, bossa nova, jazz, neo soul and alternative rock, seamlessly traversing these musical realms, while keeping improvisation at its core. Sara Pamini, with her deep, warm and expressive vocal timbre perfectly blends in with wha-driven funk vibes, smooth jazz textures, and the hypnotic atmospheric sound of trip hop. Gianluca Preti's drums support bass and guitar lines with refined precision and originality. The MGP musical journey features lively improvisations across revisited jazz standards, neo soul, funky and trip hop genres, digressing towards Hancock, Amy Winehouse, Sade, Stevie Wonder and contemporary singers like Lianne La Havas and Miley Cyrus. The resulting complex and elegant sound, dubbed "metropolitan", is characterised by such unmistakable and characteristic stylistic fusion.
