$tussy is a 22-year-old MC from Pretoria who prides himself on vulnerability in his music. He describes his approach as “opening a window into my life,” inviting listeners to experience his thoughts, emotions, and come-up in real time. He first began taking music seriously during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, releasing his first offering, Mfana ko West, on SoundCloud in 2022. The project paid homage to Pretoria West — the part of the city he calls home — and the title has since evolved into a persona that carries his hometown pride unapologetically. $tussy followed up with his debut EP We Here, a three-track project featuring “We Back,” “Next 2 U,” and “The Lottery,” the latter capturing his ambition to beat the odds.
