In the lab, I study catalysis—the art of sparking a transformation without being consumed by it. In the studio, I apply that same principle to sound. As a scientist with a PhD, my life is dedicated to finding the precise elements needed to create a reaction, and my music is the ultimate expression of that search. My tracks are sonic experiments designed to lower the activation energy of human connection. I take the raw, complex stories of our existence and refine them into melodies that resonate. From the rhythmic precision of molecular patterns to the expansive atmosphere of a breakthrough discovery, my work bridges the gap between the structured world of chemistry and the fluid world of emotion. Every composition is a narrative of change—capturing the moments where a single spark alters everything. Welcome to the laboratory of sound.
Mamuthones, born in 2006 as Alessio Gastaldello's solo project after leaving Jennifer Gentle, the Italian band signed by Sub Pop Records of which he was founder member, over the years have turned to be into a real band, centred on the figure of Alessio but around which several talented musicians with a high profile have collaborated. Such musical and cultural crossovers have led the music press to place the band in a hypothetical genre that includes Can, Popol Vuh, Goblin, Talking Heads, Miles Davis, Sunn O)))), Coil, etc. up to the definition of Italian Occult Psychedelia. They have several releases under their belt with two of the most interesting Italian record labels in the occult music (A Silent Place and Boring Machines) and with the English Rocket Recordings with whom they have been releasing regularly since 2015. The band has played over the years in Italy and Europe, with even a trip to Perm in Russia which, given the current circumstances, will remain truly historic. New album “From Word to Flesh” will be out 2025/4/18 via Rocket Recordings. It's a colourful and multi-faceted creation very much befitting the outsider spirit of Rocket’s new Black Hole imprint. Drawing on a broad canvas of influences, its more personal approach has heralded a collection of vibrant mantras driven by ritualistic abandon and rich with psychotropic radiance.
Javier Francisco Jimenez was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1986 to Dominican parents. His passion for music began at the age of 5. As he grew older, he immersed himself in various genres, including Bachata, merengue, balada, pop, and R&B. Influences such as Anthony Santos, Luis Vargas, Raulín Rodriguez, Aventura, Luis Miguel, Jose Jose, Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, and Lauryn Hill shaped his musical journey. Javier's big break came in 2007 when his long-time friend Dennis Vargas introduced him to Don Omar's bachata group, Marcy Place. In 2012-2013, his friend and son's godfather, Raynier Del Valles, helped him secure a position as the lead guitar player for Toby Love. Toby Love trusted Javier to bring a unique sound to his 2013 album "Amor Total," where Javier recorded guitar for songs like "Buscando una Nena" and the Billboard-nominated "Lejos." In 2016, Javier collaborated on Toby Love's new album "Bachata Nation," contributing to the single "Entre en Mi Vida" featuring Karlos Rose. In 2018, he pursued his dream of becoming a solo artist, debuting with the self-composed, produced, and engineered song "Te Odio," alongside his friend and daughter's godfather, Victor Luna. In 2021, Javier decided to pay tribute to one of his favorite Latin artists, Luis Miguel, by recording a bachata version of the iconic 1989 song "Culpable O No," bringing a fresh take on a classic hit. Javier is determined to leave an indelible mark on the music industry.
Music was my first love and it will be my last 🥰 Actually, up until now it was mainly painting and photography that defined my creativity. After I received the diagnosis of Parkinson’s, I started writing things down to get them off my chest… and at some point, someone asked me to write lyrics for their beat. That song was never released, but ever since then I’ve been writing lyrics and trying to give them a form to carry the idea.
