Artists: Lukas Meißl, Maximilian Kreuzer, Andreas Reisenhofer

Lukas Meißl was born where the foothills of the Austrian Alps meet apple orchards and vineyards. He was socialised here with pop and folk music. When he suddenly heard a jazz big band playing live in his small home town (a once-in-a-lifetime-occasion), he realised that these sounds were very different from traditional Austrian brass band music. So he wanted to get to the bottom of this music. As a 13-year-old, he was already playing in front of over 300 people as the pianist in a big band, so his path to jazz was predetermined. Lukas Meißl studied history, music education and jazz piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. He has won several international prizes and scholarships. Currently Lukas is part of the jazz trio "OSTstyrian Rhythm Section", the "Max Kreuzer Octet" the funk band "Candlelight Ficus". He has already played with various big bands, ensembles, symphony orchestras, choirs, collaborates with actors and works as a radio und TV host, journalist and university teacher.
