Frankensteiner are a rock band from the depths of the Black Country in the West Midlands consisting of childhood friends, Jon Collins (Vocals, Bass, Synth) and Mark Grigg (Drums). Combining dirty riffs, heavy drums and funky synths, this intense two piece take influence from the hard rock stylings of Black Sabbath, Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age, melding those sounds with the pop sensibilities of Stevie Wonder and Prince - to create what the band describe as ‘Heavyweight Rock’.
Made up of two British immigrants living in Spain’s sunny south-eastern Almeria province, Statistical Blip are a band of not-so-young prog rock aficionados. They formed originally as a cover band playing the songs other local bands didn’t want to - artists such as Rush, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Atomic Rooster, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Yes. As their gigs and popularity increased, they started to introduce their own material to the live sets which proved popular with audiences. As result of many gigs joking their own songs “came from the album”, the band decided to record and produce 'Out On A Limb' during the winter of 2023/4. Musically, the band refer to themselves as 'Real World Rock' rather than outright prog; their lyrics touching on topics both big and small, their music a fusion of classic rock sensibilities and old-school prog rock musings. Work is already underway for a second album, called ‘State Of The World’, for release in May 2025.
