Marsh Tea makes a triumphant return. Known for emotionally intense and technically intricate progressive metal, the Jyväskylä-based band made waves with early singles like “Mirrors,” and “Chairs,” which built high expectations for their debut. But just as the album was ready, the band went on an unexpected hiatus. Now, after a period of reflection and a lineup change, Marsh Tea presents Disturbances In Movements. “Disturbances In Movements reflects personal confusion and the feeling of insignificance,” says bassist and founding member Nils Ursin. “There’s anger and despair in these songs. Writing them was a relief. I hope listeners find their own stories in the music.” The track “Grown” explores regaining self-identity after losing oneself in emotional struggle: “I became transparent. I carry scars that aren’t mine. My self-image is slowly returning.” Created by Ursin, drummer Valtteri Revonkorpi, and guitarist/vocalist Teemu Liekkala, the project evolved as Ursin pushed to take Marsh Tea live. When Revonkorpi and Liekkala stepped away to focus on Rioghan, Ursin nearly let the band die — but chose to rebuild. The new lineup features: Tony Kaikkonen (Red Eleven) – vocals Mikki Rousi (Dead Season, ex-Humavoid) – guitar Jaska Raatikainen (Children of Bodom, Mercury Circle) – drums Nils Ursin (Trio Niskalaukaus) – bass Marsh Tea is now working on new music and planning live shows.
