French balladeer, lyricist and composer Victor Marichal has spent nearly two decades crafting a repertoire of songs that blend tenderness, gratitude and beauty with a distinctly French touch of melancholia. His music, shaped by influences as varied as Tom Waits, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake and Lhasa de Sela, has grown into a catalogue of over a hundred original works. Based in Paris, Victor divides his time between songwriting for himself and others, performing in various ensembles, and collaborating on more than ten albums published by BMG Production Music France, Warner Chappell, and Kaptain Music. As a singer and guitarist, he is part of The Other Side, the project of Franco-American lutenist Thomas Dunford with Keyvan Chemirani and Stéphane Galland, performing everywhere from the Berlin Konzerthaus to the Basilica of Saint-Denis.
