Joshua Scarratt shares lead single ‘Summer of ‘21’ ahead of his debut EP ‘Riding through the desert of my dreams, ’ set for release May 30th. Scarratt has already shared previews ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Mind’ and ‘Hold Me’ to enthusiastic acclaim across Apple Music and Radio X, in addition to initial tastemaker support from Hero Magazine and Louder Than War. Whilst on the live front, the musician has a London headliner at The Shacklewell Arms lined up to coincide with his EP’s release this summer on the 18th June. Discussing his latest release, Scarratt stated: “‘Summer of '21’ is the line drawn in the sand. I found myself at the end of 2023 feeling a strong desire to escape from the confines of my mind. My desire for change was the most genuine it had ever felt. The isolation that I had created had reached its peak and I felt a severe lack of connection; I was grappling with my thoughts and I realised I had become trapped in a cycle of solitude. Whilst the title may suggest and prompt nostalgia, the song itself is certainly not nostalgic. It is not about a specific time, year, or season and yearning for it, but it is a rejection of that type of thinking. It is me signing off to narratives I have held onto for far too long."
